PHAIN.health’s primary value proposition is its ability to use AI-assisted healthcare pathway navigation to solve two massive industry pain points: it alleviates the fear and confusion patients face by offering a B2C healthcare coaching app that allows for shared decision-making, while simultaneously saving providers, payers, and pharmaceutical companies millions by avoiding costly “off-pathway” treatments.

Dr. John Cai is the Founder and CEO of PHAIN.health, a digital health startup leveraging AI and real-world evidence (RWE) to transform fragmented healthcare information into clear, actionable journeys for every patient. Having served in the pharmaceutical industry for the past 20 years, John was a former Executive Director of Outcomes Research at Merck, leading a cross-functional team to generate scientific evidence and insights using AI and RWE. John received his medical training from China Medical University and his Medical Informatics training from Harvard Medical School. John is also a Fellow of American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and had served for more than 10 years in the AMIA Informatics Partnership Council. Pursuing a passion for business as mission, John and his wife are now living in the Middle East.
