Summary

Sinaptica Therapeutics is a clinical-stage medical technology company developing a revolutionary, non-invasive, drug-free therapy for Alzheimer’s disease. Founded by scientists from Harvard MGH and the University of Ferrara, and led by former Boston Scientific strategy head Ken Mariash, the company created Maintain®, a patented closed-loop system that combines transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) with real-time EEG to precisely target the brain’s memory network.

In a 52-week Phase 2 clinical trial, Sinaptica significantly slowed cognitive, functional, and behavioral decline, achieving a 102% slowing of disease progression on composite cognitive and functional measures. The therapy received FDA Breakthrough Device designation in 2022.

The 20-minute weekly treatment targets commercial launch by 2029 through a streamlined 120-patient FDA de novo pathway. The business model combines approximately $200,000 hardware sales with recurring per-use fees and new Category III reimbursement codes, creating the potential for a neurologist to generate approximately $400,000 annually from just 40 patients.

Sinaptica is currently closing a $9 million convertible note with a $55 million valuation cap (over $5.5 million committed) while preparing a $25 million priced round to fund its pivotal trial. The company offers investors the opportunity to support a breakthrough therapy with the potential to restore valuable years of memory and quality of life for Alzheimer’s patients.
